My AFP results came out positive and they call me to get a amniocentesis?

Im scare that there is something wrong with my baby. Yesterday I had a phone call saying that I have a app. with a genetic counselor, a detailed ultra sound and an amniocentesis. They said there is risk for taking that test im scare.. they told me they want to check for down syndrome and is weird because no one in my family or my partner has never had something like that.. They told me there is also risk of taking it.. Im not sure what to do.
