Whats the difference between causal body, astral body, and soul ?

It is my understanding in Spiritism that the astral body is an intermediary "body" , it is not entirely immaterial, so it has substance of some form , but it is not as ethereal as the soul, which transcends the material altogether. I think of it this way, my actual body is animated by my soul THROUGH my astral body. I have found that through deep meditation (opened eyes meditation) I can see my astral body (in spiritism, we call Peri-spirit) and with enough exercise I have achieved the same results with less and less effort. It is the most beautiful experience, to appreciate with understanding and personal experience that we are not merely a collection of organs responding to neuron commands resulting from exterior stimuli, we are so much more.
