How can i show my parents that i respect them??

well im not sure how old you are but when i was in my teens my parents and I were constantly going at it...fighting about every last thing, even when I bent over backwards to help them with things, and I can honestly tell you that the best thing that I ever did was sit down with them one night, pour my heart out and tell them exactly how I felt....I told my mom how sometimes I felt like she couldnt stand me, and how its so hard for me to talk to her and I wish more than anything that it wasnt like that....if you want them to treat you like an adult...sit down and approach the situation like an adult...it really goes a LONG, LONG way, good luck!
